As a world-renowned classical violist and the mind behind Metro Area`s string arrangements, Kelley Polar has always defied conformism - from an infamous drunken arrival to an Avery Fisher Hall concert to dismissal from Juilliard for a less than conventional Senior`s Master Recital. In 2001, Polar retreated from his explosive lifestyle in New York City in favor of the redemptive countryside of his youth. Alone for weeks at a time during the long winter months, he grappled with personal demons and creative passions, meditating on his musical ancestry from the Vienna of 1770 to the sounds of present-day Manhattan. Finally, in 2005, Kelley Polar emerged from his isolated home studio in the New Hampshire woods with his masterful debut album: Love Songs of The Hanging Gardens. Crafting ten modern, beautiful and personal songs from and for the heart and mind, Polar has created an amalgam of elegant pop songwriting, studio trickery and real, honest performance.
